<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of and a device for reducing NOx gas in a gas outflowing material discharged from a glass production furnace, particularly a floating type furnace used for the production of flat glass. <P>SOLUTION: The method is a combustion method for melting glass, in which fuel supply and oxidant supply are both effected in such a way as to stagger the fuel/oxidant contact and to increase the volume of such contact so as to limit the temperature peaks and to reduce NOx emission. The glass furnace is provided with a main oxidant supply means formed by an air intake opening 4 in one side part of the glass production furnace 1, a main fuel supply means formed by a plurality of gas or fuel sprays 6 arranged below the air intake opening and a means for staggering the fuel/oxidant contact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
