PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology related to the operation of a downward-suction sintering machine, by which a high-strength sintered ore can be produced in a high yield without deteriorating permeability of an entire charging layer, by feeding diluted gas fuels to the charging layer. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the sintered ore by feeding various gas fuels from a position above the charging layer of a sintering material deposited on a pallet of the sintering machine, gas fuels diluted to concentrations equal to or below the minimum concentrations supporting combustion are used as the gas fuels fed from the position above the charging layer on the pallet. In the method for producing the sintered ore, at least one parameter chosen from the feeding position, the maximum temperature reached by the charging layer or the retention time at the high-temperature range is adjusted when feeding the gas fuels to carry out sintering.
