<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry friction material, maintaining strength and frictional characteristic while preventing rusting with a metallic friction counter material. <P>SOLUTION: In the dry friction material formed by substantially uniformly molding a glass fiber, a glass fiber-impregnating synthetic resin and a compounded rubber, the volume content of the glass fiber is set within the range of 5 to 18 vol% of the whole dry friction material. According to this, the ratio of area of the glass fiber in a friction surface of the dry friction material is reduced to 40% or less. Thus, the dry friction material never causes rusting even under a high-humidity condition, and has sufficient strength without breakage or crack thereof in a high-speed rotation test. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
