PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which appropriately determines whether or not voice notification is provided for specific points to prevent a user from being provided with unnecessary voice notification. SOLUTION: The navigation system 10 comprises a voice output section 5 and performs route guidance for a recommended route to a destination from a present position. The system comprises a memory point information storage section 71 for storing memory points on a map, a travel-distance/travel-time managing section 12 for calculating the degree of separation between a starting point and the present position, a determination processing section 13 for determining whether or not the degree of separation between the starting point and the present position calculated by the travel-distance/travel-time managing section 12 is a threshold or more, and a main body control section 11 for controlling the voice output section 5, on the basis of the determination by the determination processing section 13, about whether or not voice notification for a memory point is provided.
