PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core-sheath conjugated fiber monofilament for screen gauze which has excellent weaving stability, dimensional properties and easy dyeability of the screen gauze. SOLUTION: The monofilament for the screen gauze having improved dimensional stability and low-temperature dyeability is obtained by providing the core-sheath type conjugated fiber monofilament composed of a polyethylene naphthalate as a core component and a polyethylene terephthalate obtained by copolymerizing a specific amount of isophthalic acid or bisphenol A as a sheath component and defining strength/elongation before and after wet heat treatment, intrinsic viscosity of each component, birefringence, core-sheath area ratio, single filament fineness and the number of knotted yarns.
