<p>A method for updating software and calibration data of a controller of a car is provided to update the software and calibration data of new versions in the controller, easily by using external tools. A method for updating software and calibration data of a vehicle controller comprises the following steps of: requesting software version information and calibration data version information stored in a memory area of the controller(101); transmitting the software version information and calibration data version information to an external tool, in case the information is normally stored(105); determining whether a software version and calibration data version coincides with the new software version and calibration data version supplied from the outside(107); transmitting the calibration data which includes software and calibration data version information to the controller to update the data in the memory area(109); and storing information about the new software version and calibration data version supplied from the outside in a separate memory area(111).</p> |
