A liquid crystal display and a method for correcting a gamma curve are provided to correct the gamma curve by controlling the gamma curve changed by a load of a liquid crystal panel. A liquid crystal panel(100) includes a plurality of pixels defined in a place in which a gate line(GL) and a data line(DL) cross. A timing controller(120) supplies a control signal and a data signal with a digital type. A gate driving circuit(130) enables the liquid crystal panel by corresponding to the control signal. The data driving circuit(140) converts the digital type data signal into an analog type image signal and supplies the converted signal to the liquid crystal panel. A gamma reference voltage unit(170) generates a reference gamma voltage which is the conversion reference of the image signal and supplies the reference gamma voltage to the data driving circuit. A gamma compensation unit(175) compensates for the reference gamma voltage. A common voltage(160) supplies the common voltage to the liquid panel. A power supply unit(150) supplies a driving voltage to the gamma compensation unit.
