PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a frame rate in accordance with the number of pixel additions without increasing an operating frequency of a column scan circuit when performing the pixel addition between columns. SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging apparatus comprises: a pixel array section 10; a row scan circuit 18 which controls selection of unit pixels in the pixel array section for each row; a plurality of A/D converters 22 each of which converts, for the unit of a column, an analog signal in each pixel into a digital signal for each column of a unit pixel group of the row disposed and selected for each column; a plurality of adders 42 each of which adds, for the unit of a column, a digital signal for each column regarding the unit pixel group of the row disposed and selected for each column; an input/output selection circuit 30 which is interposed between the plurality of A/D converters 22 and the plurality of adders 42, and controls the selection of an input destination and an output destination; a column scan circuit 50 which sequentially outputs addition results from the plurality of adders for the unit of a column through column scanning; and a control circuit 60 which controls timing for the row scan circuit, the A/D converters 22 for each column, the input/output selection circuit and the adders for each column.
