PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill dispenser with little jamming not only for Japanese bills but for bills of various sizes by making composition of a bill conveying path simple by composing the bill conveying path including a bill discrimination part to carry out bidirectionally conveying and making a temporary safe and other storages to have a simple composition. SOLUTION: The bill conveying path 501b passing the bill discriminating part 30 is composed so that conveying is carried out bidirectionally. In a deposit counting action conveying the deposited bill from an access port 20 to the temporary safe 40 by passing the bill discrimination part and in a dispensing action conveying the dispensing bill from a bill storage 60 to the access port by passing the bill discrimination part, the bill conveying path 501b is driven in a first conveying direction. Then, in deposit storing the bill stored to the temporary safe to the bill storage 60 after conclusion of a transaction, the bill conveying path 501b is driven in a second conveying direction opposite to the first conveying direction. When a user forgets the dispensed bills, the bills are conveyed to the bill storage and stored after passing the bill discrimination part from the access port by driving the bill conveying path in the first conveying direction.
