发明名称 DRIVING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PLASMA DISPLAY
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for a plasma display capable of displaying a high image quality picture, by stably driving a display panel without a malfunction even if an interval between discharge cells is narrowed. SOLUTION: In this driving device, a detecting circuit 4 detects and inputs the light emitting picture element ratio of one image screen from R, G, B digital data from A/D conversion circuits 1, 2 and 3 to a control pulse power source 5 as a signal Vcont. The power source 5 lowers subfield reset voltage in an image of low ratio in response to the light emitting picture element ratio, and heightens the subfield reset voltage in an image of high ratio. A signal processing circuit 7 performs processing required for display to R, G, B digital signals from the A/D conversion circuits 1, 2 and 3. A driving circuit 8 converts a control pulse into voltage for turning on a plasma display panel 9 by inserting the control pulse required for the display from the power source 5 into the signal from the processing circuit 7. Thus, the panel 9 can be stably driven without a malfunction by surely performing reset discharge on a bright image screen by preventing generation of a luminescent spot on a dark image screen even when the interval between the discharge cells is narrow.
