PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is reduced in capacity of a memory for an LUT during overshoot driving. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has the LUT 4 in which coefficients of cubic functions when an overshoot grayscale is represented with the cubic functions of a first grayscale are stored correspondingly for every multiple predetermined second grayscales, and a first operation unit which finds an overshoot grayscale as an output grayscale from a first grayscale of a current frame by using a cubic function whose coefficient is determined with a second grayscale one frame before the current frame among the cubic functions whose coefficients are stored in the LUT 4. Respective relationships between first grayscales predetermined with respective cubic functions of the plurality of predetermined second grayscales determined by the respective second grayscales and overshoot grayscales approximate respective relationships between first grayscales and overshoot grayscales when the overshoot grayscales suitable to a module 5 are determined using the second grayscales predetermining those relationships and the first grayscales.
