PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide film with high tensile modulus, which is improved in surface adhesiveness. SOLUTION: The surface treatment method for polyimide film for improving the surface adhesiveness of a polyimide film including a residue of aromatic tetracarboxylic acid and a residue of aromatic diamine, particularly, a polyimide film having a diamine residue having a benzoxazole skeleton as the residue of aromatic diamine comprises (1) a surface peeling step of removing a surface layer of the polyimide film by a thickness of 0.5-5.0μm, and (2) a plasma treatment process of performing plasma treatment to the polyimide film from which the surface layer is removed.
