PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-dimensional moving device capable of moving a fixing target of a mechanism in a two-dimensional path. SOLUTION: The two-dimensional moving device is equipped with a lower plate 56 disposed at the one end of a vertical moving unit part 50, and a horizontal brake part 42 and vertical brake parts 47a, 47b for braking the sliding of the horizontal moving unit part 40 and the vertical moving unit part 50 respectively. A drive pulley 35 and a driven pulley 34 are journaled to the both ends sides of the rail respectively, a driven pulley 46 and a driven pulley 45 are journaled to the near the center of the straight path, one wire 37 is extended from the vicinity of the one end part of the vertical moving unit part 50, and wrapped around the driven pulley 46, the driven pulley 34, the drive pulley 35 and the driven pulley 45 in this order to be connected to the vicinity of the other end part of the vertical moving unit part 50. While rotationally driving the drive pulley 35, the horizontal brake part 42 and the vertical brake parts 47a, 47b are alternatively operated and the horizontal moving unit part 40 and the vertical moving unit part 50 are individually slid.
