PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a green tire molding apparatus for efficiently and highly accurately mounting cords while applying a tension and to provide a green tire molding method using the apparatus. SOLUTION: In the green tire molding apparatus the rows of pins for turning back carcass cords, which pins are at a fixed space and directed to the right and left directions of a tire, are annularly provided at the right and left bead portions of a decomposable hard core having almost the same surface shape as the inside shape of the tire; the rows of pins for turning back belt cords, which pins are at a fixed space and directed outward from the surface of the core, are provided on the places corresponding to the belt side edge portions of both sides of the peripheral surface of the core, or between the rows of the pins for turning back the belt cords on the outer peripheral surface of the core there are provided the rows of pins for changing the direction of the belt cords which pins are at a fixed space and directed outward from the core surface; and these pins are made to be retractable from the surface of the core. In the green tire molding method, running the cords out to the opposite side beyond the equator and turning them back round the pins are conducted successively and repeatedly to mount the cords.
