PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home security system which can be easily installed at a low cost by utilizing power line communication without laying dedicated wiring for management. SOLUTION: A home security system comprises a repeater 3 connecting a power line communication means 2 to an external network 4 and a control terminal 5 which enables the power line communication means 2 to perform transmission/reception via the external network 4 and the relay apparatus 3, wherein the power line communication means 2 comprises a master unit 7 connected to a power line 6 and slave units 8, 9 connected to devices 18, 19 and the power line 6, and the master unit 7 comprises a signal processing means 11 for transmitting monitor signals from the slave units 8, 9 to the control terminal 5 via the external network 4 and transmitting a control signal received from the control terminal 5 via the external network 4 to the power line 6, so that since the power line communication means 2 is used for monitoring and controlling the devices 18, 19, the home security system can be easily installed at a low cost.
