摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aberration calibration method for eliminating aberration when displaying a three-dimensional image (stereoscopic image) without causing an increase in the size of the whole of an image display device. SOLUTION: The image display device is equipped with a light source 10 and an optical system. The optical system has (A) a light modulation means 30 which has a plurality of pixels, produces two-dimensional images, and emits spatial frequency in the produced two-dimensional images along diffraction angles corresponding to diffraction orders, (B) a Fourier transform image formation means 40 which produces Fourier transform images from the spatial frequency, (C) a Fourier transform image selection means 50 which selects the Fourier transform image corresponding to a desired diffraction order out of the Fourier transform images, and (D) a conjugate image formation means 60 which forms a conjugate image of the Fourier transform image. In the aberration calibration of the image display device, a correction factor is obtained from a difference between the position coordinate of the image corresponding to a predetermined diffraction order and the position coordinate of the image corresponding to a reference diffraction order caused by the aberration of the optical system in each of the diffraction orders.
