PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for sorting electronic components. SOLUTION: The sorting device is provided for electronic components such as light emitting diodes. It comprises an inspection station for inspecting and determining the properties of the electronic components. A first tray has a plurality of containers for receiving the inspected electronic components, and a second tray has more containers than the first tray for receiving the inspected electronic components. The electronic components which have inspected properties developed more frequently are loaded into the containers of the first tray, and the electronic components which have inspected properties developed less frequently are loaded into the containers of the second tray.
