PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and suitably perform topographic map generation work with the usage of a computer based on a survey by rapidly eliminating generation work obstruction caused by erroneous input of spot data and non-measurement of the spot to be measured. SOLUTION: The topographic map generation system is constituted by: measurement apparatuses 1 and 2 equipped with an acquisition means of coordinate data of a measurement point, and a means for transmitting spot information; and a topographic map generation apparatus 3 equipped with an input means of the spot information of the measurement point, a calculation processing means for generating topographic map data based on the spot information, and a display means for displaying the topographic map in the halfway of generation based on the topographic map data on a screen (display part). Especially, the display part is provided with a means for making the existing map data coincide with the coordinates system of the topographic map in the halfway of generation and displaying the existing map data in an overlapped manner so as to be distinguished from the topographic map in the halfway of generation.
