PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate for power attenuation caused by propagation distance without performing the gain control of received power by an amplifier. SOLUTION: In the FM-CW radar, a transmitting system 5 to 10 generates a digital signal for determining the distance to a target, converts the digital signal to an analog signal, subjects it to frequency conversion, amplifies it, and radiates it as a radar wave toward the target. A receiving system 1 to 4, 9 receives the radar wave reflected by the target, amplifies it, subjects it to frequency conversion, and converts the analog signal to a digital signal. An arithmetic system 11 to 13 performs correlation processing on each digital signal in the transmitting system and the receiving system and, when a propagation distance of the radar wave is reached which makes an attenuation of the power of the received signal a constant value, controls the correction of data value by controlling a bit shift amount at the time of data output.
