An apparatus and a method for displaying a live view picture during digital zoom apparatus and a method for displaying a live screen during digital zoom are provided to display live view pictures during/before digital zoom at the same time, thereby enabling a user to know where the live view picture during the digital zoom belongs to a part of the live view picture before the digital zoom. A first picture generating unit(49-1) generates a first picture by changing a size of a predetermined area of an original image when a digital zoom signal is input. A second picture generating unit(49-2) generates a second picture by reducing a size of the original image while generating the first picture. A picture output control unit(49-3) displays the second picture on a predetermined part of the first picture while displaying the first picture on the entire display unit.
