PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which can reduce a possibility that an explosive atmosphere may be generated by a combustible refrigerant which leasks out of a welded part of a heat exchanger, in the separated-type air conditioner which uses the combustible refrigerant and comprises an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. SOLUTION: The air conditioner is equipped with a cover to cover the weld part of the heat exchanger without gaps for shielding the internal space of the indoor unit, an aeration hole formed at the upper part of the cover for putting inside the cover in communication with the outside, a flow passage formed in the lower part of the cover for putting inside the cover in communication with the outside of the indoor unit, a blower for exhausting gas from the inside of the cover via the flow passage to the outside the indoor unit or the outdoor unit, and a sensor installed in the flow passage for sensing combustible gas.
