PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner reducing differences of heat exchange amount corresponding to a passage position of a heat exchanger and easily manufactured. SOLUTION: A casing 4 has a suction port 4S and a blow-off port 4E. A cross flow fan 11 is stored inside the casing 4, and forms an air flow from the suction port 4S toward the blow-off port 4E. An indoor heat exchanger 10 is stored inside the casing 4, and arranged in the middle of the air flow. A wind shielding plate 17 is provided on the upstream side of a portion of the indoor heat exchanger 10 of which width in the air flowing direction in the installation state is relatively thin, has a shape projecting to the upstream side, and shields an air flow.
