PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat source machine of a two-stage economizer cycle type for adequately distributing liquid refrigerant into systems while operating at an adequate target point. SOLUTION: This control method comprises calculating the base openings of a main expansion valve and a sub expansion valve in each system using a target supercooling temperature Ts<SB>set</SB>(S4, S5), instructing the base openings to the main expansion valve and/or the sub expansion valve in each system in which a difference between the target supercooling temperature Ts<SB>set</SB>and a current supercooling temperature Ts<SB>setj</SB>in each system is lower than 3°C (S6) (S9, S10), and instructing the opening based on the difference between the target supercooling temperature Ts<SB>set</SB>and the supercooling temperature Ts<SB>setj</SB>in each system, as a corrected opening, to the main expansion valve and/or the sub expansion valve in each system in which the difference between the target supercooling temperature Ts<SB>set</SB>and the supercooling temperature Ts<SB>setj</SB>in each system is not lower than 3°C (S6)(S8, S10).
