PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement oil pump capable of inhibiting wasteful work. SOLUTION: This oil pump is provided with a variable means varying displacement by changing relative position of a center O<SB>X</SB>of an inner rotor 2 and a center O<SB>Y</SB>of an outer rotor 3, an energizing means 21 energizing the relative position in a direction maximizing displacement, a pressing piece 22 provided on the energizing means 21, a holder part holding the energizing means 21 and the pressing piece 22, a fluid chamber 9 storing fluid giving the energizing means 21 load, and a communication passage 18 establishing communication between a storage part and a fluid chamber 9.
