PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure protection performance of a catalyst carrier, as well as to protect a mat member itself from temperature change of the mat member serving as an ambient environment holding the catalyst carrier. SOLUTION: A control means includes a setting temperature and a setting time set in advance for temperature management of the map member. When the detected temperature of the mat member becomes the setting temperature or higher, the control means makes a temperature reduction member operate continuously for a predetermined time or more.
