PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head in which flying height of a slider can be kept within a fixed range. SOLUTION: A magnetic head 1 is provided with a slider 5 arranged so as to face a magnetic disk A surface, a magnetic recording element provided at the slider 5 and recording information in the magnetic disk A and a magnetic reproducing element provided at the slider 5 and reproducing information recorded in the magnetic disk A, a suspension 3 with a tip part freely movable in the radius direction of the optical disk A, a slider supporting member 4 on which the slider 5 is attached to one end part 4a and the other end part 4b is attached to the suspension 3 so that one end part 4a can be moved, and a supporting part 6 which is attached to the magnetic disk A side of the suspension 3, and which supports the slider supporting member 4 in point or surface contact with the part opposite to the magnetic disk A side of the slider supporting member 4. Also the magnetic head 1 is provided with a piezoelectric element 2 in which a relative position of the slider 5 for the supporting part 6 is changed by moving the slider supporting member 4 by extension and contraction.
