The dielectric antenna penetrates into the waveguide by its feed side end, while the waveguide inner walls closely surround a preset length of this end. The pyramid-shaped widened portion points in the direction of the radiation end of the antenna, this widened portion being outside the waveguide. The end at the radiation side has a spherical closure. The angular arrangement of the pyramidal shape is selected in accordance with the directional diagram of the antenna, while the spherical closure radius is selected to provide an approximately spherically propagating wave front, as in 1803792. The pyramid-shaped widening of the antenna is of almost elliptical cross section, but in any case without any corners. |
