A method and system are provided for the securitization and sale of insurance and/or reinsurance risks in the U.S. domestic and international financial and capital markets in the form of bonds, debentures, exchange-traded funds and/or other types of securities such that insurance and/or reinsurance companies have access to private, public, and institutional financial and capital market investors from outside of the insurance/reinsurance industry in order to broaden the pool of potential risk capacity available and enable insurance and/or reinsurance companies to offer significantly more risk coverage to their existing and potential customers in terms of dollar value covered and actual policies written.
