An apparatus(79) for opening/closing a dustbin of a vacuum cleaner is provided to shut tightly an inhalation hole of an dustbin when the vacuum cleaner is held up and the dustbin declines or the dustbin is eliminated from the dust chamber and not to lower the suction force when users clean using the vacuum cleaner. An apparatus(79) for opening/closing a dustbin of a vacuum cleaner contains a shutter(80) moving between a sealing position shutting an inhalation hole tightly and an open position opening the inhalation hole(61) of the dustbin installed at a dust chamber(23), an operation member(90) connected with the wheel and operating the shutter and an elastic member(96) elastically pressurizing the operation member in order to maintain the shutter at the sealing position when an external force does not act on the wheel or the operation member.
