PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synonym dictionary creation support system for supporting a user not to define one word as the synonym of a plurality of different representative words.

SOLUTION: This synonym dictionary creation support system is provided with an extraction rule storage means; a synonym candidate extraction means; a synonym candidate storage means; a synonym candidate set decision means for putting the set of words having a synonymous relation with a word designated by a user among the sets of words having a synonymous relation to be extracted by the synonymous candidate extraction means into a decided state, and for applying information showing the completion of decision to each word stored in the synonym candidate storage means to each word to be put in a decided state; and a synonym candidate decision information display means for additionally displaying information showing the completion of decision to each word to which the information showing the completion of decision is applied.
