<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of preventing leakage, wetting or the like of prepolymer of an elastomer precursor and improving the performance without causing expansion, deterioration or the like of surrounding members of a liquid crystal panel. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device 1 is provided with: a backlight part 121, 123, 124, 134, 136; a liquid crystal panel 120 which includes a back surface side polarizing plate, a pair of transparent surface side and back surface side panel glass substrates 11, 12 of retaining a liquid crystal layer, an electrode for applying a voltage to the liquid crystal layer, an alignment layer and a color filter therein and a surface side polarizing plate 13, and displays an image on a display screen G; and a transparent front plate 129 which is joined to the liquid crystal panel 120 via a joint layer 15, wherein region of the joint layer 15 is formed so as to be larger than the display region of the display screen G and be smaller than the surface side polarizing plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
