PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complement a deterioration in a thermally affected optical light-emitting characteristic of a light source to ensure a constant light intensity in a light-emitting part of the light source. SOLUTION: A drive signal is generated on the basis of 1-channel adjusting data to 40-channel adjusting data including information related to the light-emission state of a four periods of pixel clock PCLK, that is, most recent 4 pixels of respective VCSEL1to VCSEL40at a rate depending on the light-emission time. Further, the light source 10 is driven by the drive signal. This can complement a decrease in the light-emission intensity caused by an increase in temperature of the light source 10 to make it possible for the respective VCSEL1to VCSEL40to emit light at constant intensity.
