PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver which enables a user to use an EPG immediately after channel setting. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver has a confirmation means and a control means. The confirmation means confirms whether or not a tuner has been able to perform tuned extraction of a broadcast signal of a specified frequency while changing the specified frequency from a predetermined initial frequency to a predetermined final frequency. When the confirmation means has confirmed that the tuner has been able to perform tuned extraction, the control means controls a first storage means so as to store in a first storage means predetermined information separated from a transport stream necessary for channel setting which sets a channel to an operation key of a operation means, and a second storage means so as to store EPG data separated from the transport stream in a second storage means.
