PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a junction type surface mounted crystal oscillator in which the displacement of a crystal vibrator and a mounting board is suppressed. SOLUTION: The surface mounted crystal oscillator is provided with: the crystal vibrator 1 in which a crystal piece is housed and tightly sealed inside a container main body having external terminals 6 at four corners of a bottom surface; and the mounting board 2 in which joint terminals 10 are provided on four corners of an upper surface corresponding to the external terminals and an IC chip 8 is housed, and is composed by joining the external terminals 6 of the crystal vibrator 1 and the joint terminals 10 of the mounting board 2 by solder 11. In the surface mounted crystal oscillator, recessed and projected parts 14 are provided at portions of the bottom surface of the crystal vibrator 1 and at portions of the upper surface of the mounting board 2, the portions of the bottom surface and the portions of the upper surface being opposite to each other, and the crystal vibrator 1 and the mounting board 2 are fitted each other through the recessed and projected parts.
