PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the disturbance of a reproducing signal caused by heat generated when a slider and a disk medium are brought into contact with each other near a head in recording/reproducing data by floating the slider equipped with the head above a disk medium surface by liquid lubrication. SOLUTION: This head slider is provided with a sliding surface 30 suitable for sliding on a liquid film when the disk medium is rotated by its operation speed, at least one of sliding legs 41, 42, 43 and 44 formed to be protruded from the sliding surface, and a head mounted leg 45 formed to be protruded from the sliding surface and having a head 99 mounted on its tip. The protruding height of the head mounted leg from the sliding surface is lower than that of the sliding legs. The sliding legs are formed in a region excluding the area which is defined by the head and the disk medium in writing or reading data and located on the windward of the head in a sliding direction.
