PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of an erroneous determination where although any anomalous condition in a fuel system has not occurred, occurrence of anomaly is determined. SOLUTION: The quantity of fuel injection injected by a direct-injection fuel-injection valve is obtained (step S110); when the automobile is in a check mode (YES in step S170), an integrated fuel-injection quantity of an integrated value is calculated; it is estimated that until the integrated fuel-injection quantity exceeds a specified range, air remains in a supply pipe; and even when at the time when a high pressure fuel pump pressurizes the fuel to send it to the direct-injection fuel-injection valve, an anomalous condition of the high pressure pump is not determined (step S180-S210). Thus, when the fuel is pressurized and supplied in the condition that a fuel pressure Pf in a check-mode is hardly raised to a prescribed pressure Pref, the fuel is supplied without being hindered by the determination of anomaly.
