PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form homogeneous air fuel mixture and prevent back fire due to ignition during an intake stroke in a six cycle engine. SOLUTION: The six cycle engine of which operation cycle comprises an intake stroke, a compression stroke, a combustion stroke, an exhaust stroke, a cooled intake stroke, and a cooled exhaust stroke, is provided with an injection control means controlling a fuel injection means to inject hydrogen to an upstream side of an intake valve during the intake stroke according to engine load and an intake valve control means controlling opening of the intake valve to suck intake air and hydrogen injected by the fuel injection means into a combustion chamber under a premixed condition.
