PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impeller and a method for working the impeller materializing weight reduction and balance adjustment of the impeller by only drilling a back surface of the impeller. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for working the impeller 10 provided with a plurality of blades 11 on a blade support body 13. Balance of the impeller 10 is measured, a plurality of hole inside spaces of bottomed holes 18 to include at least two bottomed holes 18A, 18B having different hole inside space volumes of the bottomed holes 18 are set at a plurality of hole forming positions S of the bottomed holes set on the back surface of the impeller 10 based on a balance measurement result. Balance of the impeller 10 is adjusted by forming the bottomed holes 18 having hole inside space set therein are formed at the hole forming positions S respectively. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
