PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film manufacturing apparatus which prevents the occurrence of non-touch defects and is capable of forming a thin film having a uniform thickness in the width direction and free of distortion. SOLUTION: A molding stand 1 has a main roll 2, an auxiliary cooling roll 3, an elastic roll 4 located opposite to the auxiliary cooling roll 3 and a backup roll 5 pressing the elastic roll 4 against the main roll 2. A resin material (liquid) 8 fed through a T die 6 is introduced into the gap between the main roll 2 and the elastic roll 4, cooled and formed into a film 10. The elastic roll 4 has a thin elastic shell 41 which is bent under the load. The load across the width of the material is adjusted by applying desired force on the resin material 8 by putting pressure on the elastic roll 4 with the backup roll 5 to bend it. A load adjustment mechanism 20 adjusts the position of the cotter, the balance between the pressing force of the elastic roll 4 and the pressing force of the backup roll 5 to prevent the occurrence of non-touch defects and regulate the thickness across the width.
