PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming food dough such as pizza dough or the like, which forms dough into a uniform shape and yet forms dough into various shapes such as a square, rectangular or elliptic shape and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: The apparatus for forming food dough such as pizza dough or the like is equipped with a horizontally arranged intermittently movable long endless drive belt 4, a dividing and supplying means 5 for successively dividing a dough material A into fixed amounts and supplying the dough material from a tail pulley 2 side to a top pulley 3 side on the conveying surface of the endless drive belt 4, upper and lower sheet supply parts 6 and 7 for nipping the divided and supplied dough material A between a pair of upper and lower sheets 14 and 15, a sealing means 8 for fusing the outer peripheral edge of the divided dough material and sealing the fused dough material into a desired shape while nipping the divided dough material A between the upper and lower sheets 14 and 15 and a forming means 9 for expanding and forming the sealed dough material A under pressure.
