<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability of a solid polymer fuel cell by suppressing deterioration of a polymer electrolyte membrane of the solid polymer fuel cell, without impairing power generation performance. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for producing the polymer electrolyte membrane for the solid polymer fuel cell, the polymer electrolyte membrane, in which a transition element or rare earth element is uniformly dispersed, is formed by preparing a solution or dispersion of an alkoxide of the transition element or rare earth element having a catalytic power of decomposing a peroxide. This method for producing the polymer electrolyte membrane for the solid polymer fuel cell has the feature, wherein (1) when the polymer electrolyte membrane, in which the transition element or rare earth element is dispersed uniformly, is formed from a mixed solution which is obtained by preparing the solution of a polymer electrolyte and then uniformly mixing the solution with the solution or dispersion of the alkoxide, the alkoxide is condensed by hydrolysis, or alternatively by the feature (2): wherein the polymer electrolyte membrane, in which the transition element or rare earth element is dispersed uniformly, is formed by preparing the polymer electrolyte membrane for the solid polymer fuel cell, then uniformly impregnating the polymer electrolyte membrane with the solution or dispersion of the alkoxide, and then condensing the alkoxide by hydrolysis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
