<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell in which seals are joined without using an adhesive and moisture generated by electrode reaction is promptly discharged. <P>SOLUTION: A first seal 56 is provided to a first separator 20 in an injection station. Next, ultraviolet rays are irradiated on the first seal 56 in an ultraviolet irradiation station. Thereby, the first seal 56 is activated. In this case, firstly, ultraviolet rays to generate ozone from oxygen are irradiated, then, ultraviolet rays to generate oxygen atoms in excited state from ozone are irradiated, and a hydrophilic group is formed on the surface of the first seal 56. This first separator 20 and a second separator 22 having a second seal 58 similarly activated are superimposed. In this case, at least parts of the first seal 56 and the second seal 58 applied with activation and hydrophilic treatment are superimposed and integrated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
