A control circuit is provided to securely protect recorded data by stopping a read-out element of a magnetic head and performing backup of recorded data according to the occurrence of over voltage due to ESD(Electro-Static Discharge) or EOS(Electro 0ver Stress). A control circuit performing damage prediction diagnosis of a read-out element of a magnetic head(2a,2b) and protection of recorded data comprises a monitor(7) detecting the voltage of the read-out element of the magnetic head, a comparator(11) determining a threshold value of internal pressure of the read-out element, and a counter(18) counting the signal passing through the comparator.
