<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical head having high light use efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the optical head is provided with: a slider having a near-field light generating part generating near-field light used for recording information to a recording medium and an optical waveguide guiding light to the near-field light generating part and moving relatively to the recording medium while floating thereon; and an optical element having a linear light guide body guiding light from a light source to the optical waveguide. The method has an index forming step of using light from a light source made incident on the optical element via the linear light guide body to form an index at a part in the optical element, from which the incident light is emitted, a position adjusting step of adjusting the relative position between the slider and the optical element to align the position of the index formed in the optical element with the position of the near-field light generating part and an adhesion step of bonding the slider and the optical element with adjusted relative position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
