PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a messaging virus dealing program or the like, for dealing with a messaging virus, effective for new type virus, transmission source assumption type virus and unspecific file attached type virus. SOLUTION: A computer implements the steps of: determining whether to perform processing under a security mode or not based on information about whether to guard against a new type messaging virus of which features are not predetermined; determining the presence/absence of risk of virus infection due to electronic information received based on predetermined conditions in the case that it is determined to perform the processing under the security mode; not distributing but storing the received electronic information in the case that the risk of virus infection is determined present, or distributing the received electronic information in the case that the risk of virus infection is determined absent; and performing processing for the received electronic information based on features of a known messaging virus of which the relevant features are predetermined, in the case that it is determined not to perform processing under the security mode.
