PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering gear capable of improving degrees of freedom of arrangement and designing of a functional part superior in a steering operability and less concerned directly with steering operation desired to be arranged around a driver's seat (for example, an airbag for the driver's seat, a winker lever, etc.) and a getting on-and-off property of a driver. SOLUTION: This steering gear is furnished with an operation member 12 to move on an operating surface 10s when the driver carries out steering operation, a steering input means 10 provided with a steering operating quantity detection means 14 to detect moving quantity of the operation member 12 as steering operating quantity (steering angleθ<SB>ST</SB>), a target steering angle setting means (electronic control device 30) to set a target steering angleθ<SB>req</SB>of steered wheels WL, WR in accordance with the steering operating quantity detected by the steering operating quantity detection means 14 and a wheel steering angle giving means 20 to steer the steered wheels to get to the target steering angleθ<SB>req</SB>without mechanical connection with the steering input means 10.
