<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a roller member for electrophotography with high dimensional accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the elastic roller includes a step of depositing a coating film by plasma CVD on the outer periphery of a prescribed elastic layer. Further, the method is characterized in including the steps of: (1) disposing a roller base between first and second flat electrodes arranged parallel in a chamber in such a way that the distance from the surface of the elastic layer to each flat electrode is 20 to 100 mm; (2) introducing a material gas in such a way that the pressure in the chamber is 13.3 to 666.6 Pa, and (3) supplying output power of 0.3 to 2.0 W/cm<SP>2</SP>to the first flat electrode while rotating the roller base at a circumferential speed of the surface to be coated from 6 to 170 mm/s in the chamber where the material gas has been introduced and thereby producing a plasma in the chamber to form a coating film on the surface of the elastic layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
