IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing a scan operation and a carriage operation in a short period of time without deteriorating precision with a simple configuration without using any vibration absorbing member such as a spring. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming means for forming an image on a printing and recording medium while using a carriage including a recording head; and an image reading means for reading an image to be read. The image forming apparatus further comprises characteristically a carriage movement control means for performing a moving/stop switching control of the carriage during reading operation of the image reading means.
