PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the damage of a sensor main body since a switch is turned on or off when the sensor main body is depressed, and since the lower surface of the sensor main body or the upper surface of a base is received by a receiving section. SOLUTION: An image input apparatus includes: a base 2; the sensor main body 9 coupled to the right and the left of the base 2 so as to be able to move in a vertical direction with a pivot 12 as a center; a push switch 16 provided to the lower surface of the sensor main body 9; a projecting part 5 provided to the upper surface of the base 2 at a position facing the push switch 16; and a sensor receiving section 7 provided to the upper surface of the base 2 and nearer to the pivot 13 than the projecting part 5.
