摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot installation position determining device for automatically determining the installation position of a robot. SOLUTION: This robot installation position determining device 1 determines the installation position of the articulated robot which performs operations beyond the pass points of the working portion. The robot installation position determining device comprises a working point classifying means 6 for classifying the group of the working points in a working area including the pass points into the working points to which the working portion reaches and the working points to which the working portion does not reach when the articulated robot is installed at the initial installation position and an installation position changing means 7 for so changing the installation position from the initial installation position that all pass points are the working points to which the working portion reaches according to the results of the classification. The robot installation position determining device further comprises an operable degree calculation means 6 for calculating the operable degree of the working points on a path between the pass points and a path dividing means 6 for dividing a path between the pass points according to the operable degree of each working point on the path between the pass points.
